Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov announced that poverty in Azerbaijan has been reduced from 49% to 5%.

The statement was made during the World Urban Forum (WUF13) at a session titled "Cities at the Center of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation."

Jabbarov noted that Azerbaijan has significantly reduced poverty over the past 20 years and also resolved the region's most complex territorial conflict.
