Reconstruction of Karabakh Irrigation Canal Begins

The work on the preparation of feasibility study and design-estimate documentation for the reconstruction of the Karabakh irrigation canal has started.

According to Oxu.Az, the Design Institute of the Water and Melioration Complex has announced a tender.

The institute will purchase services for conducting PT (Standard Penetration Test) tests as part of the project.

The total planned payment for the work is 94,400 manats.

The Karabakh Irrigation Canal is the country's largest main irrigation canal. It provides irrigation water to up to 115,000 hectares of agricultural land in 9 districts of the Karabakh zone and surrounding areas, as well as household water to settlements.

President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree 'On measures related to the reconstruction of the Karabakh irrigation canal' on April 15, 2024.
