Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov said that SOCAR is transforming from an oil and gas producer into a skill exporter company.
Speaking at the "Technovation" Forum in Baku, Soltanov noted that Azerbaijan saw significant growth in natural gas production between 2020-2025, but such rapid increase is unlikely in the near future.
"SOCAR was formed during the Soviet era and relied on external support for finance and technology. Now, the company is integrating into the value chain in European countries, including Georgia, Turkey, and Italy," he said.
The deputy minister emphasized: "SOCAR now exports knowledge, management, and technological competencies. This is the most important indicator of economic development - the ability to sell skills accumulated in human capital on the global market."
