SOCAR Italy officially presented in Rome. SOCAR president Rovshan Najaf held meetings in Italy and attended Independence Day reception.

The president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, held several meetings during his visit to Italy. He also attended an official reception in Rome on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day.

R. Najaf met with Italy's Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso. The meetings highlighted the sustainable development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy.

SOCAR's acquisition of shares in 'Italiana Petroli' from 'API Holding' was noted as a significant step in expanding bilateral energy cooperation. Discussions also covered energy security and other mutual interests.

The SOCAR president participated in a reception organized by the Azerbaijani embassy in Italy. During the event, 'SOCAR Italy' was officially presented. In his speech, Najaf spoke about Azerbaijan's development path under President Ilham Aliyev, following the legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

He emphasized that the launch of SOCAR Italy and the acquisition of Italiana Petroli shares demonstrate the successful partnership between the two countries. The event also featured speeches by Azerbaijani Ambassador Rashad Aslanov, Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli, and Senator Licia Ronzulli.
