Bond.az -- Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller ruled out the possibility of near-term interest rate cuts on Friday, citing inflation levels that remain above the central bank’s target and a stabilizing labor market.
"It’s just kind of crazy to say you could start talking about rate cuts in the near future," Waller said.
Waller expressed concern about inflation expectations, particularly over longer time horizons.
He also addressed the Fed’s balance sheet and central bank independence.
