In the first five months of 2026, retail trade turnover in Azerbaijan reached 25.5 billion manats. Of this, 55% was spent on food, beverages, and tobacco.
According to the State Statistics Committee, food products accounted for 50.9% of total spending, beverages and tobacco 4.6%, and textiles, clothing, and footwear 12.8%.
Spending on motor fuel was 6.4%, electrical goods and furniture 4.4%, pharmaceutical products 2.9%, and computers and telecom equipment 1.5%.
During the reporting period, the average monthly spending per capita was 496.9 manats, including 275.7 manats on food, beverages, and tobacco, and 221.2 manats on non-food items.
