Harvard scientists, together with colleagues from Brazil, Chile, and South Korea, have revealed the type of physical exercise that prolongs life.

Oxu.Az reports that this information was published by "Vietnam.vn."

Researchers found that according to the results of a large-scale 30-year study, the best way to extend life is not walking, but strength training. Experts analyzed data from 147,374 people with an average age of 54. Participants reported every two years the time they spent on strength training and cardio exercises.

It turned out that just 90-120 minutes per week, or about 17 minutes per day, of strength training reduces the risk of premature death by 13%, death from cardiovascular diseases by 19%, and death from nervous system diseases by 27%.

Even 10 minutes of exercise per day is enough to reduce the risk of cancer by 12%.
