Russian scientist Damir Udavliev warns that leaving a fumigator (mosquito repellent) on all night in the bedroom is a health hazard.
In an interview with RT, he explained that fumigators release synthetic pyrethroids that paralyze insects. In small, enclosed spaces, the concentration of these chemicals can reach dangerous levels overnight.
Prolonged inhalation may cause headaches, nausea, irritation of mucous membranes, and even central nervous system disorders.
Children, as well as pets—especially cats, birds, and aquarium fish—are more sensitive to these toxic substances.
Udavliev recommends turning on the fumigator 30-60 minutes before bedtime, placing it at least one meter from the bed, then turning it off and ventilating the room before sleep.
