Why are some people targeted by mosquitoes more than others? The reason has been revealed.
Russian expert Nikolay Durmanov stated that mosquitoes are attracted to heat and volatile substances. Skin microbiome produces odorous compounds, with lactic acid being the most attractive.
These bloodsuckers also use vision. Dark clothing and movement signal a target. Light colors and stillness reduce attraction.
Alcohol consumption also makes people a priority. Those who drink tend to be more active, sweat more, and emit more heat, drawing mosquitoes.
