Vugar Aliyev arrested for embezzlement

Vugar Aliyev, head of the company "Azenco" linked to former Azerenerji director Etibar Pirverdiyev, has been arrested.

He is accused of embezzling over 3 million manats. The preliminary investigation has been completed.

Aliyev faces charges under Article 179.4 of the Criminal Code, which carries a sentence of 10 to 14 years in prison.

A court hearing is expected soon. Azenco previously handled large energy projects and residential construction in Baku.
