Baku TV's "Military Chronicle" program analyzed the joint exercise "Caucasus Eagle - 2026" held by Azerbaijani, Turkish, and Georgian special forces at the Mukhrovani base near Tbilisi.
The drill is not accidental. Conducted on a yearly rotation in the territories of the three countries, it is a key component of long-term military cooperation.
"Caucasus Eagle" serves as a professional platform testing special forces' readiness in scenarios close to real combat, focusing on coordinated actions of small elite groups.
The program includes stealth movement, ambush operations, urban combat, seizure of strategic facilities, diversion and counter-diversion, casualty evacuation, and joint command control.
For Azerbaijan, this exercise strengthens tactical training per NATO standards, absorbs Turkey's combat experience, and develops operational coordination with Georgia.
Turkey's "Bordo Bereliler" unit's recent combat experience and Azerbaijan's special forces professionalism enhance knowledge exchange.
Modern warfare increases the role of special forces. Operations integrated with unmanned systems, electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence support become key directions.
