The Cannes Film Festival has awarded the unofficial "Palm Dog" prize for the best canine performance.
According to Variety, the winner is Yuiri, a dog from the Chilean film "La Perra", directed by Dominga Sotomayor.
The film tells the story of a woman living on a remote island. A little dog reawakens her long-buried maternal instincts.
Before filming, Yuiri lived in a shelter. After shooting, she found a new family.
Previous winners include Messi, a Border Collie from "Anatomy of a Fall", and Brandy from "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
This year's Cannes runs from May 12-23, with 22 films in the main competition.
