Swedish athlete and "Mad Max" film star Kyel Nilsson has died at the age of 76.
According to Oxu.Az, this information was reported by the Daily Star.
The actor's representative said Nilsson had been suffering from kidney disease for the past four years. He passed away in Queensland, Australia, surrounded by his family.
The actor rose to fame for his role as Lord Humungus, the ruthless leader of a marauder gang, in the 1981 film "Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior".
Nilsson later appeared in films such as "The Pirates" (1982), "The Word Man" (1984), and "On the Threshold of Power" (1987). However, it was the role of Lord Humungus that brought him the greatest fame. This character is still considered one of the most memorable villains of the franchise.
