Canadian singer David Clayton-Thomas, best known as the lead vocalist of Blood, Sweat & Tears, has died at the age of 85.
According to CBC News, his PR manager confirmed the news.
Clayton-Thomas rose to fame in late 1968 with the band. Their hits "You've Made Me So Very Happy", "Spinning Wheel", and "And When I Die" reached No. 2 on the Billboard chart. In March 1970, the group won a Grammy for Album of the Year.
He began a solo career in 1972. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1996, and received a star on Toronto's Walk of Fame in 2010.
