British actress Emma Hussen has been charged with drug smuggling from West Africa to Australia.
Oxu.Az reports this citing Nine.com.au.
Hussen was detained in Adelaide along with a married couple. They are accused of attempting to illegally import approximately 320 kg of methamphetamine, worth $296 million, hidden inside charcoal.
The bags of charcoal from Ghana were X-rayed after border officers discovered a white crystalline substance, which was identified as methamphetamine.
During a search of Hussen's home, police found an additional 32 bags. Authorities claim these bags previously contained drugs.
The court ordered Hussen to remain in custody until the next hearing in August.
Notably, the 34-year-old actress appeared in a spin-off of the soap opera 'EastEnders' and had a cameo role in the film 'Hummingbird' alongside Jason Statham.
