Victor Willis, lead singer and co-founder of the iconic disco group 'Village People', has died at age 75. He was best known for the hit 'Y.M.C.A.'.
According to Gazeta.ru, Willis died on June 30 after a brief but severe illness.
His wife, Karen Haff-Willis, confirmed that he succumbed to a rapidly progressing disease.
Willis was the main vocalist of 'Village People' since the 1970s, often performing as a sailor or police officer on stage.
In 2020, 'Y.M.C.A.' was added to the US National Recording Registry. Donald Trump famously used the song during his election campaigns.
