The June weather in Azerbaijan has been announced. According to the head of the National Hydrometeorology Service, Nazim Mahmudov, the average monthly temperature in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula was 24°C, which is 1°C above the climate norm.
The maximum temperature in Baku and Absheron reached 37°C on June 19, while in the regions, specifically Julfa, it hit 40°C on June 20. The minimum temperature in Baku was 11°C, and in mountainous areas it was close to 0°C.
Some days in June saw precipitation, thunderstorms, and snow in mountainous areas. The heaviest rainfall occurred in the Balakan-Shaki zone. Hail was observed in Dashkasan, Gadabay, Zagatala, and other districts, with the largest hail recorded in Agstafa measuring 25-28 mm.
Six yellow and orange warnings were issued due to windy weather. Maximum wind speed reached 28 m/s.
