American actress Glenn Close and director Ridley Scott will receive honorary Oscars.
Variety reports the awards will be presented at the 17th Governors Awards on November 15. Animator Floyd Norman is also being honored.
Close has been nominated eight times for acting Oscars but never won. Scott has been nominated three times for directing and once for Best Picture.
The Academy praised Close for her "unmatched emotional range" and called Scott "a true visionary who has made an immeasurable impact on world cinema." Floyd Norman is described as "a legendary animator who overcame barriers and inspired generations."
