American actor Nicolas Cage has officially changed his last name. He abandoned his birth name, Coppola, and now legally bears the surname Cage on his passport.
According to Oxu.Az, the actor made this decision early in his career to avoid being overshadowed by his uncle, director Francis Ford Coppola. But the official change took over 60 years.
The 62-year-old star announced on January 7, his birthday, that he no longer uses the name Nicolas Kim Coppola. He expressed satisfaction with the move and confirmed cutting formal ties with the famous dynasty.
