Spanish courts have overturned a previous ruling on Colombian pop star Shakira's 2011 tax claims, ruling in her favor.
According to the National Court Collegiate of Spain, the fines imposed by the Tax Agency have been canceled. More than €55 million will be refunded.
The court concluded that Shakira did not spend more than 183 days in Spain in 2011, staying only 163 days, thus not qualifying as a tax resident.
The 49-year-old artist is globally known as a singer, composer, dancer, and model, with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
