From May 17 to 19, strong winds are expected in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. Yellow and orange alerts have been issued for extreme weather.
The National Hydrometeorology Service reported that northwest winds will blow at speeds of 13.9-20.7 m/s in yellow-alert areas.
Yellow alerts are active in Nakhchivan, Gazakh, Agstafa, Tovuz, Shamkir, Ganja, and other regions. Orange alerts are in effect for Mingachevir, Barda, Tartar, Yevlakh, Naftalan, Goranboy, and Dashkasan.
During the orange alert, wind speeds may reach 20.8-28.4 m/s. Citizens are advised to be cautious.
