During the international conference 'Global South Youth Platform: The Role of Youth in Urban Planning in the Decolonization Process,' organized by the Baku Initiative Group, the first official meeting of the platform was held.
Key decisions were made regarding the platform's activities, future priorities, and international cooperation opportunities.
Four new countries were admitted to the platform: Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Senegal, and Egypt. This brings the total number of member countries to 20.
Participants emphasized the importance of sustainable and effective cooperation among member states. They noted that implementing projects with tangible results will be a key activity direction.
The next phase's priority directions and action plan were determined. Strengthening cooperation mechanisms among youth from member countries was given special attention.
Expanding collaboration with international organizations and civil society institutions was identified as a main priority to enhance the platform's international prestige and youth participation in global decision-making.
