In Azerbaijan, 48 individuals have been held accountable for illegal fishing as part of efforts to protect fish stocks.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, joint operations were conducted with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Service from March to May.
Administrative protocols were drawn up for 45 cases, while criminal proceedings were initiated for 3 cases.
On May 12, a cleanup campaign was held in the delta of the Kura River, removing fishing nets and waste.
