Grain sowing has been carried out on 9,000 hectares across the country. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Zaur Aliyev at a press conference held at the Ministry.
He noted that the goal is to reach 66% self-sufficiency in wheat:
"Currently, wheat productivity in Azerbaijan is 40 centners per hectare. With a 20% increase, we aim to raise this figure to 50 centners. The goal is not only to increase productivity but also to achieve productive production with food quality. This will be implemented by providing appropriate infrastructure and support in specialized regions."
