Children's use of social media will now be regulated by law. A bill discussed at the Milli Majlis meeting on June 8 bans individuals under 16 from creating personal digital accounts on platforms.
A survey conducted by Baku TV shows residents support the new regulation. Citizens noted that children watch inappropriate videos and imitate those actions. "It's hard to keep my grandchildren away from social media," one resident said.
Under the new law, the list of platforms will be determined by the relevant authority. Providers must require users to declare their age to enforce the restriction. For children aged 16-18, parental consent is required.
