At a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children, Deputy Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Sadafat Gahramanova, accused local executive authorities of falsifying alimony statistics.
She stated that some districts reported zero men not paying alimony: "The executive authority writes whatever number comes to mind. Is there a district where there is no parent failing to pay alimony?"
Gahramanova noted that they receive annual surveys and reports on domestic violence, but the statistics from districts do not reflect reality.
