President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Isa Habibbeyli, announced that archaeological research will also be conducted in Lachin and Kalbajar.
He made the statement during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Archaeological and Anthropological Field Research Season.
Habibbeyli noted that international expeditions were organized in the liberated territories last year.
“A scientific center must be opened in Karabakh. It is time. Research is being carried out in some areas of Karabakh, but the first archaeological expeditions should also be organized in other areas,” he emphasized.
