Social media claims suggest that 'Lori' cheese, produced in Armenia, is being sold at the '8th Kilometer Market' in Baku.
A seller stated that the product is imported from Georgia. However, journalist Ilhama Nasir notes that the packaging lacks Azerbaijani language information and manufacturer details.
Nasir says: "The label reads 'Lori cheese' in Armenian. Lori is a historical region in Western Azerbaijan. Many people cannot distinguish between Armenian and Georgian alphabets, and the seller takes advantage of this."
In a survey by Baku TV, citizens demanded stricter control over unlabeled food products.
The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) confirmed that the matter is under investigation and further information will be provided.
