Samir Rzayev, Chairman of AZAL's Board, commented on airfare prices.
He stated that AZAL is not a low-cost carrier and comparisons are inappropriate. Prices are set according to international standards.
Rzayev emphasized that factors such as passenger numbers, flight dates, and supply-demand dynamics influence pricing. Passengers are offered early reservations, promotions, and installment payments.
He also noted that 40 airlines operate at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, 15 of which are low-cost. In 2025, 1.7 million passengers flew with low-cost carriers, with total passengers exceeding 3.5 million. AZAL's share is 49%, foreign airlines 51%.
Rzayev highlighted that the main goal is to develop tourism.
