Design work is underway for a joint border checkpoint between Azerbaijan and Georgia. This was announced by Shahin Baghirov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee.
According to him, the government has given relevant instructions to the SCC. The selection of the area for the new checkpoint is ongoing.
The checkpoint will meet modern standards and will apply a joint control mechanism. Azerbaijani and Georgian customs services will work at close range, enabling synchronized inspection of vehicles.
This system will prevent time loss, improve control quality, facilitate faster detection of potential risks, and increase service speed. Additionally, additional opportunities for vehicle passage will be created.
