Azerbaijan's consul general in Tabriz, Ramil Imranov, has died in a car accident.

According to a statement on the Foreign Ministry's "X" account, the diplomat was driving a service car on the Julfa-Tabriz highway when the accident occurred.

The ministry expressed deep shock and offered condolences to the family.
