Azerbaijani Asif Mehdiyev killed in Russia-Ukraine conflict. The 1995-born Russian citizen from Astrakhan died in Donetsk battles.

Another Azerbaijani has been killed in the war in Ukraine.

According to Oxu.Az citing Modern.az, Asif Novruz oglu Mehdiyev, a Russian citizen of Azerbaijani origin born in 1995, lost his life during military operations in Ukraine.

Mehdiyev, from Astrakhan, served as a contract serviceman in the Russian army. He was killed in one of the intense battles in the Donetsk region.

Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, hundreds of Azerbaijanis from both sides have been killed.
