The 2nd Solidarity Forum of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Baku.
According to Oxu.Az citing Report, the event took place within the framework of "Baku Urban Planning Week", organized by the State Support Agency for NGOs in partnership with the Platform of NGOs from OTS member countries.
Representatives of civil society institutions from 8 countries — Azerbaijan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and Hungary — participated in the forum.
The 1st Solidarity Forum of OTS member NGOs was organized by the State Support Agency for NGOs on November 23-26, 2025, in Baku and Nakhchivan. During that event, the Platform of NGOs from OTS member countries was established in the city of Nakhchivan, which entered the organization's history with the "Nakhchivan Agreement" in 2009 and holds great symbolic and spiritual significance. Leadership of the Platform was entrusted to Azerbaijan as the current chair of the OTS. The forum also featured panel discussions titled "Towards WUF13 – First in the Turkic World" in Nakhchivan.
Representatives of civil society institutions from 8 countries exchanged views during the discussions.
Within the framework of the 2nd Solidarity Forum of OTS NGOs, the 1st Cooperation Forums of Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan-Northern Cyprus NGOs will be held for the first time.
In the past, on May 19, 2022, the Azerbaijan-Turkey NGO Cooperation Forum was held; on November 27, 2023, the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan NGO Cooperation Forum in Fuzuli; on December 5, 2024, the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan NGO Cooperation Forum in Tashkent; and on November 24, 2025, the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan NGO Cooperation Forum in Baku. These forums are of great value for the joint, coordinated activities of Turkic world NGOs within the UN and other international institutions.
Notably, this is the second time in the last six months that NGOs from OTS member countries have gathered in Azerbaijan.
