Baku hosted SPLASH for Swimmable Cities on Biodiversity Day. 100 people swam together.

On May 22, International Day for Biological Diversity, Baku hosted the "SPLASH for Swimmable Cities" event.

It was held within the framework of "Baku 2026 - World Sports Capital" and "Baku Urban Planning Week".

Organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, Swimmable Cities Alliance, and UN-Habitat.

Diplomats, WUF13 guests, athletes, and swimming enthusiasts gathered at Sea Breeze Resort shoreline.

Minister Farid Gayibov, UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaclaudia Rossbach, Federation advisor Rashad Abdurrahmanov, and Ironman Firdovsi Karimov spoke.

About 100 participants swam simultaneously in the sea.
