A professor from Baku State University, Hikmat Alizade, has faced a serious health issue.
According to Oxu.Az, the 70-year-old professor felt discomfort in his heart at work yesterday and called emergency services.
In the ambulance, the patient experienced severe chest pain, a drop in blood pressure, and rapid heartbeat. On the way to the hospital, his heart stopped. Immediate resuscitation efforts began, including cardiac massage for 20-30 minutes. Reports indicate that Alizade experienced clinical death during this period.
The patient was promptly taken to the angiography room. An examination revealed blocked heart vessels. The head of the invasive cardiology department at the Central Customs Hospital, invasive cardiologist Ilgar Tahiroglu, performed an emergency operation successfully. As a result, the patency of the heart vessels was restored.
According to reports, neither the patient's brain nor heart suffered any damage from the intervention. Currently, Hikmat Alizade's condition is stable. He is expected to be discharged today.
It is worth noting that Hikmat Alizade is the chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education.
