In Balakan district, trees face a serious threat. The rapidly spreading fall webworm caterpillars are causing massive damage to green areas.
Residents say the situation is similar in forests. Pests first form webs on trees, then eat leaves and fruits, causing plants to dry out.
According to Oxu.Az, this is covered in Baku TV's video report.
One resident said: "It's a disaster, we can't cope. They spray and clean, but no matter how much they spray, it comes back. The medicine doesn't work."
Another resident added: "It has covered all the greenery. If this continues, in a few years no healthy tree will be found here."
