A building in Baku's Narimanov district has restricted pedestrian movement, causing residents' discontent. Located at the intersection of Khan Shushinsky and Hasan Aliyev streets, the structure was built on the sidewalk.
According to Oxu.Az, a resident who has lived in Baku for three years said they face the same situation daily. The building completely occupies the sidewalk and even blocks the traffic light.
Lawyer Vusal Jafarov noted that sidewalk occupation violates the Urban Planning and Construction Code. Under Article 394 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, individuals face fines of 300-500 manats, officials 1,500-2,500 manats, and legal entities 15,000-25,000 manats.
The Narimanov District Housing and Communal Services Union stated that the building was constructed years ago and can only be demolished by a court decision.
