A person who committed fraud under the guise of buying and selling cars was sentenced in Ganja.
According to court materials, the accused deceived an acquaintance by claiming to sell a Hyundai Sonata he did not own. He obtained 2,650 manat. He later took an additional 2,600 manat by falsely claiming the car had a loan.
Investigation revealed the car was rented. The accused used the money for personal expenses. The victim returned the car to its owner.
In a second episode, the accused deceived the owner of a Hyundai Tucson. Claiming he lacked funds and would get the rest from his mother-in-law, he convinced the owner to pawn the car for 10,000 manat, then fled with the money.
Total damage was 12,650 manat. The court sentenced him to 1 year and 9 months of restricted freedom, reducing time served to a final term of 1 year, 3 months, and 6 days.
