The implementation of the Caspian water desalination project has begun under a public-private partnership with the participation of international companies.
Oxu.Az reports that this was stated by Ilham Bayramov, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, in an interview with APA.
He said the project envisions the production and supply of approximately 100 million cubic meters of drinking water annually. Additionally, a main water pipeline will be designed from the desalination plant to the Jeyranbatan Water Treatment Complex.
As a result, the drinking water supply in Baku and surrounding areas will increase by about 25%.
