Religious figures from Shamakhi district visited historical and religious monuments in Karabakh and East Zangazur.
The group toured Yukhari Govhar Agha, Ashaghi Govhar Agha, Chol Gala, Saatli, and Mamayi mosques in Shusha, Juma and Giyasli mosques in Agdam, and Zangilan mosque.
The State Committee for Religious Associations reported that visitors were informed about the history, architectural features, destruction during occupation, and restoration works.
Restoration projects by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation were highlighted. It was noted that preserving religious and cultural heritage is a priority under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership.
The Foundation, led by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, has restored many religious monuments in the region.
Such trips increase clergy's awareness of monument restoration and reconstruction processes.
