Temperature over the Caspian Sea has risen by 1.2°C, and by 3°C in Iran's mountainous regions. This prevents pollutants from dispersing over Baku.

Elnur Safarov, chief researcher at ANAS, stated during a WUF13 panel organized by IDEA Public Union that climate change hinders the spread of pollution.

Azerbaijani and Uzbek scientists have launched a joint air quality monitoring project. Pilot areas: Absheron Peninsula, Baku, and Sumgait. They plan to install measurement stations and create a 72-hour forecasting system.

The scientist emphasized that international cooperation, satellite data, and modeling are essential to combat air pollution.
