The trial of Seymur Seyagi, accused of large-scale fraud by promising victims the "Alicia in Wonderland" project in Baku, has concluded.
According to Oxu.Az, during the hearing presided over by Judge Kamil Aliyev at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, public prosecutor Eldar Mammadov delivered an indictment speech.
The prosecutor proposed a sentence of seven years and six months imprisonment for the accused.
After the lawyer's defense speech, the accused made a final statement. The court retired to the deliberation room and later announced the verdict.
Under the verdict, Seymur Seyagi was sentenced to 5 years of suspended imprisonment with a 2-year probation period, and he was released from the courtroom.
It is noted that Seymur Seyagi was charged under Article 178.3.2 (fraud causing large-scale damage) of the Criminal Code. The total damage amounted to 128,000 manat. A reconciliation was reached between the parties.
