The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has started demolition works in the area known as "big square" on Tabriz Street, Narimanov district.

According to Oxu.Az citing Yeni Sabah, the project envisions a pedestrian-friendly environment, level crossings, bike lanes, and convenient public transport conditions.

Around the Nariman Narimanov metro station, a small bus interchange center will be created, new pedestrian crossings will be organized, and an uninterrupted pedestrian environment will be formed.

The area has been fenced off. In the coming days, demolition of several facilities will begin. Owners have been notified.

The project includes wide barrier-free sidewalks, greenery, quality public spaces, and modern parking infrastructure.

Once completed, the street will become more comfortable, safe, and functional for cars, pedestrians, public transport users, and residents.

Recall that a few months ago, the reconstruction project of Tabriz Street was presented to the public under the "State Program for 2025-2030 on Improving Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas."
