Residents of Khirdalan are upset over the deplorable condition of the road leading to Baku Engineering University. The road has been in disrepair for a long time, becoming impassable in rainy weather, with a strong stench emanating from the area.
In response to Oxu.Az's inquiry, the Khirdalan city administrative district representative office stated that current repair work was carried out on Academician Hasan Aliyev Street earlier this year. However, after recent intense rains, groundwater actively surfaced, causing erosion of the road surface.
The representative office reported that the relevant authority has been informed and work to redirect groundwater will begin soon.
Meanwhile, construction of the Pirshagi-Novkhani-Khirdalan-M4 highway is underway per presidential decree. Academician Hasan Aliyev Street is part of this project. Major repairs are deemed inappropriate as the new road is expected to be completed in 2026-2027.
Nevertheless, last week current repairs were again carried out on the street, with carbonate material being poured. Asphalt has been ordered and work will commence after the road surface dries.
