Yashar Asgarov, living at 12 Mahsati Ganjavi Street in Kurdamir district, reported that his house, built of adobe about 50 years ago and declared hazardous four years ago, collapsed a few days ago, leaving four family members homeless.
Contacting Baku TV's hotline, the homeowner said that despite repeatedly applying to relevant authorities, his appeals were ignored. The family, now in a difficult situation, seeks help.
Victim Sharaf Asgarova said: "After the house became completely dangerous, we had to rent. I struggle to pay 200 manat. I have two children. One of my sons is a European champion. I raised him with difficulty in this dilapidated house. What would have happened if the house had collapsed on us?!"
Kurdamir District Executive Authority stated they are aware of the situation. An inspection of Yashar Asgarov's house was conducted by the Executive Authority and the Aran Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The citizen was informed that the repair, restoration, and construction of private houses are not covered in the Executive Authority's budget, thus beyond their authority. However, the Kurdamir Executive Authority has sent an official letter regarding the collapse to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The homeowner will be informed after the letter is investigated.
