The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control has imposed financial sanctions on several heads and deputy heads of Azerishiq OJSC's regional electricity supply departments for violating competition legislation.
The Agency issued a binding order to Azerishiq to comply with sectoral legislation in electricity supply, including displaying consumers' current debt on bills and making required changes in written warnings.
Currently, Azerishiq is taking necessary steps to ensure compliance with sectoral requirements and improve work with subscribers.
The State Agency monitors compliance with the Competition Code in natural monopoly areas and conducts measures to prevent actions that could negatively affect customer interests.
Based on citizen appeals and data from the Energy Regulation Agency (EMTA), an investigation was launched against Azerishiq. The Competition Commission involved EMTA representatives to ensure an objective review.
