Akbar Husiyev, a former officer of the Internal Troops, veteran of the First Karabakh War, and retired lieutenant colonel, has died at the age of 66.
According to his relatives, he passed away after a long illness.
During the First Karabakh War, Husiyev commanded the "Garagol" battalion. His battalion showed great bravery in the battles for the defense of Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Zangilan. He was seriously wounded in the Aghdam direction.
In later years, he held various positions in the Main Department of Internal Troops and military units.
