A glove factory with an annual production capacity of 25 million pairs has started operations in Khankendi. Products will be used in industry and agriculture.

According to Oxu.Az, local residents have been employed at the production facility. One of them is Khayala Babayeva, a resident of Khankendi, who works at the glove production enterprise of "GP Safety" LLC.

Khayala Babayeva: "We moved to Khankendi a year ago. After the move, we were offered jobs, and my husband and I chose to work at the glove workshop. Now we have permanent jobs."

The enterprise will produce four types of gloves for various purposes. Products are mainly intended for the domestic market. In the initial phase, 35 people will be employed, mostly former internally displaced persons returning to their homeland.

Elkhan Babayev: "Honestly, I thought it would take time to find a job after returning to Khankendi, but the opposite happened. My wife and I were both employed. It is a pride to work and participate in rebuilding our homeland."

The investment volume of the enterprise is 3.5 million manats. With state support, the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy allocated 1 million manats in concessional loans, and imported machinery was exempted from 238,000 manats in VAT under an investment promotion document.

The factory contributes to local employment, meets domestic demand, and boosts export-oriented production. In the future, exports to the European market are planned.
