The average monthly salary in Azerbaijan has reached 1,151 manats. According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first quarter of this year, the nominal average monthly salary increased by 6.2% compared to the same period last year.
Deputy Vugar Bayramov stated on social media that the highest wages are in the mining industry. Workers in this sector earn an average of 4,581 manats – four times the national average.
In the finance and insurance sector, the average salary is 2,814 manats. Bank employees have the second highest income. Overall, salaries in nine sectors exceed the national average.
The lowest salaries are recorded in agriculture, forestry and fishing: 720 manats. In trade and repair of motor vehicles, the average is 768 manats.
Vugar Bayramov noted that differentiation of salary increases is important. Optimization of wages in the public sector remains a priority.
