A 19th-century historic building in Baku's Sabail district has a dangerous roof. Residents report water leakage during every heavy rain.
A resident at 18 Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street contacted Oxu.Az. He says the roof has not been repaired for a long time.
The resident lives on the top floor. During rain, they must place buckets and basins to collect water.
The resident's mother is seriously ill and undergoing chemotherapy. She struggles to deal with the water leakage.
The building entrance ceiling has collapsed. Further collapse could happen at any time, endangering lives.
The building is a state-protected cultural heritage site. Lack of repairs also damages historical heritage.
Residents have repeatedly appealed to Municipal Housing, Executive Power, Emergency Ministry, and Cultural Heritage Service, but the problem remains unsolved.
Sabail District Executive Power stated the building has been added to the repair list and is under supervision.
